No aspect of our life has escaped the impact of the Information Age and computers have become major home appliances. Nevertheless, many more great challenges and opportunities remain to be realized in Computer Engineering and Telecommunications. The aim of the MSc in Embedded Computing Systems and Computer Science and Networking jointly organized by the University of Pisa (Department of Information Engineering) and Sant'Anna School (Institute of Communication, Information and Perception Technologies - TeCIP) is to develop highly skilled graduates for the fast evolving embedded systems industry. Online applications for 2017 entry are open until July 24 (MSc in Embedded Computing Systems) and July 25 (MSc in Computer Science and Networking). All programs are taught in English.

The MSc in Embedded Computing Systems course covers all aspects of Cyber Security and Cyber-Physical Systems including network security, computer security and information security.

The number of application domains is expanding in other fields, like sport, medicine, agriculture, civil protection, industrial automation, avionics, intelligent transportation systems, telecommunications and robotics. Over 98% of the computers existing in the world are embedded, that is, integrated into a larger system using special hardware devices. Designing and developing software for embedded computing systems requires an interdisciplinary knowledge in different technical areas like distributed systems and sensor networks, real-time operating systems, modeling and timing analysis and advanced man-machine interfaces.

The full-time MSc program in Embedded Computing Systems includes lectures, laboratory work, workshop sessions and supervised practical sessions. Students can carry out their master thesis in Pisa, at an industrial partner in Italy or at one of partner institutions overseas, allowing all students to gain valuable experience, widen their knowledge and network with international experts.

The MSc in Computer Science and Networking covers all aspects the design, management and evaluation of networks, architecture of hardware and/or software systems, the use of tools and techniques for combining theoretical knowledge and practical skills in computer networking facing the concept of Industry 4.0: Internet of Things, Cyber-physical systems; machine-to-machine communication.

The MSc in Computer Science and Networking program prepares students for careers in cyber-physical and embedded systems application design and system development. The program is open to applicants (residents in Italy or Europe) holding a Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Computer or Industrial Engineering. Students can carry out their master thesis in Pisa, Bristol University, at KTH-Svezia, Google, Ericsson, RFI industrial partners or at one of partner institutions overseas.

Graduates from our MSc programs are employed worldwide in leading companies at the forefront of technology.
