ROBOTICS ECOSYSTEM TAKES THE STAGE AT ROMECUP. SANT’ANNA SCHOOL BIOROBOTICS INSTITUTE RESEARCHERS PARTICIPATE IN SEMINAR DISCUSSION AND EXHIBITION ON APRIL 16-18, 2018

RomeCup is the leading annual event in Rome for advancing robotics, a truly must-go event. The robotics ecosystem, algorithms for manipulation, motion planning, machine learning and machine vision, are just a few of the many topics the RomeCup conference addresses.

RomeCup 2018 will be held on April 16-18 at the Campus Biomedico and at the Campidoglio (click here for the event program organized by Fondazione Mondo Digitale). Sant’Anna School Biorobotics Institute worked in partnership with other sponsors focusing on the international conference on future BioRobots “Il futuro della Biorobotica: imitare la natura per il progresso della scienza e della tecnologia nell’automazione” (Monday, April 16 at 10.30 am Aula Magna Trapezio - Campus BioMedico, key speaker Maria Chiara Carrozza), an academic seminar on “Mani artificiali e interfacce uomo-macchina” key speaker Francesco Clemente, a researcher working in advanced prosthetics and artificial limbs. The upcoming exhibit will highlight the various new technologies and prototypes developed by Sant’Anna School Biorobotics Institute.

The ROMECup 2018 on emerging technology “Robotica e scienza della vita nell’ecosistema dell’innovazione” will explore the interaction between universities, research centers, schools, entrepreneurship, institutions, communities and families. As attendees begin to be introduced to these technologies, researchers are facilitating discussions about robotics innovation, wearable robots, mobile robots, human-robot interaction and teleoperation, and educational robots.

Included in this year’s session is the convergence of robotics, artificial intelligence and industry. On the robot cognition, manipulation of objects, and interaction front, there are robot hand, robot finger, embedded sensors for biomimetic robotics, capsule endoscopy (EU project Endoo), and artificial devices for incontinence (frontier research developed at REPAIR Lab in partnership with Inail).
