One complex to rule them all: Polycomb mediated control of plant development and defense memory
Plant Lab Seminar Series 2026
Seminar on Plant Molecular Physiology
On July 10th, 2026, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m., the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna will host a new seminar within the Plant Lab Seminar Series, dedicated to cutting-edge research in plant molecular physiology.
The seminar, entitled “One Complex to Rule Them All: Polycomb-Mediated Control of Plant Development and Defense Memory”, will be delivered by Rory Osborne, researcher at the University of Birmingham (United Kingdom).
The talk will explore the role of Polycomb group proteins in regulating plant development and in establishing long-term defense memory. By focusing on how chromatin encodes and retains information about past environmental and biotic stresses, the seminar will provide insights into the epigenetic mechanisms that enable plants to respond more effectively to recurring challenges, particularly interactions with pathogenic organisms.
The event will take place in Aula 3 at the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna (Piazza Martiri della Libertà 33, Pisa) and is open to students, researchers, and all those interested in plant biology, genetics, and epigenetics
