HealthPros is a Marie Sklodowska-Curie Innovative Training Network for Healthcare Performance Intelligence Professionals. The program received funding from the European Union's Horizon 2020 initiative and it offers 13 PhD positions (HealthPros fellows) running from January 2018.

The training network brings together leading academics in the field of data science and health care performance assessment. The Management and Health – MeS Laboratory of Sant’Anna School has been working in partnership with the Academic Medical Centre of the University of Amsterdam – Coordinator; North Denmark Region/Aalborg University HospitalOptimedis AGUniversity of Surrey,  Corvinus University of Budapest  and University of Toronto/ Canadian Institute for Health Information) to implement methods to streamline healthcare performance measurement and develop performance-based governance mechanisms.

To improve integrated service delivery, patient engagement, equality in access to healthcare and reduce waste in healthcare, the ESRs (early stage researchers) will focus on performance intelligence; health data; healthcare performance measurement, governance & performance intelligence use; health outcomes; cost-efficiency; quality of care; integrated care; inequality; patient engagement.

Applicants must, at the time of recruitment:

  • have less than four years of research experience;
  • have not been awarded a doctoral degree;
  • not have resided or carried out his/her activity in the country of the host institution (for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately prior to his/her recruitment under the program.
