Important recognition for Valentina Casieri, researcher in Clinical Pathology of the Translational Critical Care Medicine Unit (TrancriLab) at the Institute of Life Sciences of the Sant'Anna School. ITWIIN, the Italian Association of Women Inventors and Innovators, awarded her the special mention for healthcare due to “the excellence and commitment in research activity aimed at the study of pharmacomodulation of cardioprotective exosomes”, within the different categories of the award that it assigns every year.

ITWIIN has been working for 15 years enhancing the value of women who show their talent through inventions, ideas and innovations in the field of science (Stem) and  humanities, design, music. The competition for the ITWIIN 21 award, which selected Valentina Casieri among several candidates, intends to enhance the professional successes of creative and active women in the fields of research, technology transfer and innovative enterprise. In fact, women who are authors or co-authors of an invention or innovation of particular originality and creativity, destined to have a significant impact in the economic or social field, can compete for the award.

Valentina Casieri graduated in Biological Sciences applied to Biomolecular topic at the University of Bari “Aldo Moro”, where in 2011 she specialized in Clinical Biochemistry, with analytical-technological focus. Since 2012 she has been working as a researcher at the Institute of Life Sciences of the Sant'Anna School in Pisa.
