“MANTOVA FOOD & SCIENCE”: SATURDAY, OCTOBER 22, SANT’ANNA SCHOOL RECTOR PIERDOMENICO PERATA GIVES HIS LECTURE ON GENETICS FOR “MADE IN ITALY” FOOD SECURITY AND SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE

The “Mantova Food&Science” event aims to highlight the recent trends in food science and technology. The conference will be held on Saturday, October 22, at Palazzo della Ragione - 10.00 am. Professor Pierdomenico Perata, rector of Sant’Anna School – Pisa and Michele Morgante, geneticist, are invited as guest speakers. Rector Pierdomenico Perata will give his keynote speech on genetic resources contribution to “made in Italy” and sustainability at 11.00 am.  

Saturday’s conference will be the occasion to announce the “Food&Science” event promoted by Confagricoltura Mantova, to be held on May 5-7, 2017, which gives the opportunity to address the recent developments and updates on food chemistry, food analyses, food quality and safety. It will provide a platform to present research results and practice based innovations in optimizing nutritional science and food technology.

On Saturday 22, Simone Spetia, Journalist of Radio 24 Il Sole24Ore, will serve as panel moderator. Participants include: Maurizio Martina, Minister of Agricultural, Food and Forestry Policies; Pierdomenico Perata, Rector, Professor of Plant Physiology and PlantLab coordinator; Michele Morgante, President of the Società italiana di genetica agraria.
