The State Police Headquarters in Vercelli is pleased to announce the Ethics in Public Administration Seminar with guest scholars Alberto Pirni (Moral Philosophy Dept.) and Gaetana Morgante (Criminal Law Faculty) from Sant’Anna School. The Chief of State Police Franco Gabrielli will give his closing remark at the seminar exploring a variety of questions related to criminal justice ethics “Favoritismi, infedeltà e abusi nell’esercizio delle funzioni della Polizia di Stato tra etica e codice penale”.

The seminar will be held on January 16, 2018 at 10.30 am - Museo Borgogna. Bringing together faculty, journalists of “La Stampa” and police officers, the workshop will focus on formal ethics regulation in shaping officers ethical decision making and prevent misconduct involving misuse of powers that directly impact the legitimacy of the law enforcement apparatus. Public institutions require a high degree of integrity and effective systems of accountability within law enforcement authorities are much needed.
